A great prophet has appeared among us; God has visited his people. (Gospel Acclamation)
This same joy I feel and now it is complete. He must grow greater, I must grow smaller.
These words of John the Baptist sum up our Advent Walk with Me journey of prayer. During the past few weeks we have come to know the real and lasting joy as we have celebrated the birth of our Infant King. Through the gift of revelation we recognise who the child in the manger truly is: the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. Sure and confident in the knowledge that we are temples of the Spirit, children of God, and members of the Body of Christ, we go forward, refreshed and invigorated, filled with the joy of Christ.
Lord, give me a new confidence to share my faith. So that I may make the sign of the cross more readily and say ‘God Bless’ more easily and naturally.
